Task APIs FAQ
Short answers to the questions developers ask most, each with the page that explains it.
Am I charged for a failed job?
Only for what it delivered. Submitting holds the estimate; when the job ends, delivered outputs are charged and the rest of the hold comes back, whether the job succeeded, failed or was cancelled (Pricing).
What happens when I run out of credits?
A submit your balance does not cover is refused with 402 insufficient_credits, which says how much
was required and what you have; nothing runs. A job that already started keeps its hold
(Pricing).
Do credits expire?
Yes. A plan's credits renew each billing period; a credit pack ends on its own date. GET /v1/account/balance lists when yours run out
(Pricing).
How long are my files kept?
Until you delete them: files and records have no automatic deletion (Data retention & storage).
Are file URLs public?
Yes. A file's url is not signed and does not expire, so anyone who has it can fetch the file
(Files and media).
Can I call the API from a browser?
Call the API from your server, or put a proxy in front of it (Proxy setup).
Why was my request refused for its content?
The request's content was refused, and the answer is content_refused. Change the input
and submit again; only delivered outputs are charged (Task errors).
What happens to a field the task does not know?
A field the task does not know never fails the request; it simply has no effect. The flip side: a misspelled name has no effect either, so check names against the task's schema (Conventions).
What does 409 result_not_ready mean?
You read the result of a job that has not ended yet. Read the job until its lifecycle is
terminal, or use a webhook (Asynchronous jobs).
Why do my images have a watermark?
Trial accounts receive watermarked images. The file
stays the same when your plan changes (Files and media).
Is there a rate limit?
Yes, a request rate per API key, and a rate per IP address for reads that need no key. Over it you
get 429 with Retry-After (Limits).
Can I get an invoice or a volume discount?
Your balance, with links to your plan and invoices, is in Panel › Billing. For volume pricing, contact us (Support).
I can't access my account. What do I do?
Contact us from the address on Support with the e-mail you sign in with. Never send an API key.
