# Records & libraries FAQ

> Short answers about records, library items and uploads, each with the page that explains it.

### Why is a result missing from my library?

A job that makes a record lists only the record, never its parts: a moodboard's images are its
`data.items[].url`. A job's files are listed under the job (`GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}/result`); read
the record itself with `GET /v1/files/{handle}` ([Records & libraries](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/overview)).

### Does deleting a record delete its files?

You can delete produced files (`art:…`) one at a time
([Retention & deletion](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/retention-and-deletion)).

### Can I restore deleted items?

Deleting a produced file is permanent, so delete only what you no longer need
([Retention & deletion](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/retention-and-deletion)).

### Can I do everything through the API?

Keys and webhook endpoints are managed in the panel; everything else is in the API
([API boundaries](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/using-the-files-and-records-api#api-boundaries)).

### When can I use a record I just made?

When its `data.status` is `ready`. A task given a record that is still `processing` refuses it with a
code that says so ([Records & libraries](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/overview#is-it-ready)) (live list: `GET /v1/vocab/record_status`).

### Can I use Refabric's own moodboards and fabrics?

Yes. `GET /v1/refs/moodboard?curated=true` and `GET /v1/refs/fabric?curated=true` list them, with the
handles to pass ([Using the Files & Records API](https://docs.refabric.com/records-and-libraries/using-the-files-and-records-api#list-what-you-can-reference)).
